Context
- The SDGs goals (2030 Agenda), the EU Green Deal, Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050, support youth participation in the targeted countries united for a just transition.
- 2 main recommendations The state of local and regional democracy – A youth perspective (European Committee of the Regions, 2022) :
- Involve young people in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of youth programmes.
- Consider measures to encourage the involvement of young people
The EU’s 2019-2027 youth strategy : encourage young people to participate in democratic life, social and civic engagement.

Challenges
- Provide young people with the resources they need to participate in public life,
- Create new tools and opportunities to encourage young people’s participation in public life and their links with decision-makers,
- Involve young people as one of the main players in a fair and equitable transition.
The idea is to encourage young people to :
- Understand and explore the link between sustainable green Europe (goal 10) and inclusive societies (goal 3),
- Design services to meet these challenges.

Objective
- Strengthen democratic processes and the representation of young people in decision-making at transnational level;
- Increase information and awareness on the inclusive, transparent and active participation of young people in a just and equitable transition at transnational level;
- Strengthen the capacity of youth organisations and local authorities in the target countries to raise awareness and promote transnational cooperation for a just transition.
Targets
- Direct target group
- Young people (16-25 years old), including NEETs and young people with fewer opportunities
- Youth workers / civil servants, from local authorities, dealing with young people
- Indirect target group
- Decision makers as elected people, youth policy makers.
- The project also envisages the involvement of the target group representatives, as well as stakeholders, in the preparation, implementation and follow-up phase of the project.
